I was hoping that since there was no post from you yet today- that you were too busy with watching them in the incubator. Great news. They sure do take their sweet time about it and keep us in suspense.

Hope tomorrow is hatch day for your first babies..and you have lots more breaking through in the morning too.

if only someone (apart from my 2 year old son) could see me... have had my face planted against the incubator today chanting "YOU CAN DO IT", "COME SAY HI TO MUMMY"! hahaha pathetic i know, even my son is trying to yell it out too!!!

Thats sounds strangely familiar... But for me its "...Come on Duckie ..You can do it.. Push duckie...push duckie... Come one duckie.." Any kind of sound- whether its the ducklings themselves or a human voice does encourage them to keep going. Dont feel silly- if those eggs were under a mother duck- she would be talking to them too.

well when i do talk to her i can see that she moves more!!! now with you saying that i reckon i will be up all night cheering her on!!! i had to say goodbye to three of my drakes today so i spent alot of time with them in they yard!!

Im sorry.. But if you had that many extras- Im sure the ducks will enjoy getting less attention form the boys. I am selling three of mine tomorrow. Two young girls about 4 weeks old and a drake a few weeks older. They are in the bath now getting clean. The lady who is buying them wants to surprise her daughter. They are driving 100 KLMs to come get them- and I cant wait to see the look on her face. The daughter has chooks but has wanted ducks for a while. Its nice to be able to supply the ducks for that surprise- but still sad as the two girls are so sweet. They love cuddles so much. But at least I know they are going to a great home.

LOL, you should have heard my sons and I cheering my 2 ducklings on! We quacked, we cheered "Come on baby, come on!" Would also take a flash light to the egg and that really stimulated them to move as well. With my 1st duckling I didn't have time to turn the video camera on, when she started zipping she went hog wild with it and did the good karate chop and poped out. The 2cd one I got all on my blackberry video of him hatching. I Rouen mixes, possible runner in there as well. I lost 4 out of 6 ducklings during hatch time, and I have a momma sitting on 8 eggs that are due within the next few days/weekend and I'm planning on moving her and her eggs and quickly and carefully as I can into our basement because the weather has already reached 32 at night and I'm concerned the babes will freeze to death. My babies that hatched this weekend are on my avatar as well. Good luck hoping for the best for you!! It's fun experiencing it, but it priceless sharing it with your child(ren) like I did, my 10yr watched the 1st baby, and my 12yr old and I stayed up until 1:30am watching the 2cd one being born. Not to many kids can say "I watched a duckling/chick hatch!"

ducky sounds like they are going to a really good home!!! yeah my boys got rehomed today cause they are fighting with with my main drake Albert and harassing one of my girls while she is sitting on eggs she has been trying to fight them off but its just getting to much you should see her neck its a mess so as much as i love them i had to put the girls first! i have 3 girls and 1 drake now. i am hoping that her neck will heal up really fast and i dont have to take her to the vet!!
hey funnybunnies, i was thinking of recording it too but this little egg is taking her dandy time! fingers crossed i can shut my brain off and go to sleep and hopefully there is a surprise for me in the morning......!

anyway for the update before i got to bed i was on skype tonight talking to a friend in melbourne and as excited as i am trying to take the laptop over to the incubator and putting the camera up really close so she could see..... when i was doing this i noticed 4 more eggs have cracks...........WOO HOO! i think my neighbours would have heard the excitment! so lookout tomorrow 5 down 13 to go!!! ( i would have been happy with one finger crossed they hatch okay)

Great news...They will all have been peeping away to each other durring the night... Hopefully you will have some new babies today to get your mind off the drakes. I have a little girl with a bald neck at the moment. One of my ducks has been sitting for just over a week now- so the others are getting more attention form the boys. They do stay away from the nesting box though- so at least for now I am not worrying too much about broken eggs and such.

Come on duckies....you can do it..come on duckies!!!!!!

OMG i am very excited to let you know i know have 3 very cute and very tired ducklings!!! the first one i did help a little it took that one almost three days and this evening when i got home i thought she must have died trying to get out so i got her out and with in seconds of picking her up (dont know why i am calling it a her but i am going with it lol) she pushed her self out in seconds... i am taking credit for her waiting for me to get home and not miss my first hatching hahahaha
