Could this ameraucana pullet be a cockerel? *UPDATED PICS* post #13

What makes you think Easter Egger instead of Ameraucana? I really don't care which it is as long as it lays eggs, but just curious what the difference is. Thanks!

There are only certain colors 'registered' for true Ameraucanas. MOST hatcheries do not sell them but may list them as such. For example my EE's all came from a feed store BUT were sold to me as Ameraucanas. (two stores that I have bought chicks from) An EE is just a bird that has Ameraucanas in their background, but generally are mixed so they can have a lot of different looks. Yours really is identical to mine! Uncanny! LOL (except mine has the typical 3 row comb)

I love my EEs!

Here are some updated pics at 10 weeks. Is there still a chance this is a hen? If it's a rooster I'd like to rehome it ASAP but will keep it if it's a hen. Thanks!

With the darker red shinny feathers coming in on the wing bows and the clear 3 rows on the pea comb, I'm sticking with rooster. Note pea comb hens also get 3 rows in their comb but at a much later age.

Thanks for the response! It's looking like a rooster to me but I'm still holding out hope lol

Just wanted to update this thread for anyone that might be wondering. This bird is now 15 weeks old and definitely a rooster, it even tried to crow this morning! I've actually grown kind of fond of him and may keep him around, but I have 3 roosters in my flock of 10 and only want to keep one.
