That's what I'm afraid of! Still no crowing yet so I'm going to wait. I really don't want to rehome her/him...Pretty sure #1 is a cockerel (that's a lot of comb and wattle even for a female of this age), and #2, a pullet. They're beautiful.

Oh dear, so hoping I'm wrong. That's what I'm afraid of! Still no crowing yet so I'm going to wait. I really don't want to rehome her/him...
The comb and wattles are big and colorful for 10 weeks, but I still couldn't call this one with any kind of certainty. The legs are thin and the comb/wattles are pinkish, not red. Also the comb, though big, doesn't really look the way a cockerel's comb usually looks-- more even in shape, and not raised and rounded in front.Update. 10 weeks old. Are we still thinking two pullets? And I am confident they are Blue Andalusians now.
Thank you. I was wondering about the comb looking like that too. I've looked online and all the cockerels I seen had a more even looking comb. I never would've guessed how much I love these two! Everything I've seen about them said they are flightly birds. These two are the most friendly chickens I've ever seen! Oh, they fly better then any of my birds already, plus they are really smart but so loving. I would recommend this breed to anyone. As long as they are handled a lot I think this could very well be the most docile breed out there! The comb and wattles are big and colorful for 10 weeks, but I still couldn't call this one with any kind of certainty. If I had to guess, I would lean toward it being a fast developing pullet. But I think you are wise to wait and see.
Handling makes a big difference. I hope you get the pullet you want! Keep us updated if you can.Thank you. I was wondering about the comb looking like that too. Thank you. I will definitely update when I know for sure. If it is a Mister, I'm going to try to keep him. But I live in town... Maybe I'll try to bribe my neighbors with free eggs lolIt looks like you may have a breeding pair, #1 cockerel and #2 pullet. It is normal for him not to be crowing yet. My Black Copper Maran rooster (same one in my avatar) didn't even try until he was 19 weeks and my Japanese Bantam is 15 weeks and he hasn't started yet either. Don't give up hope though, for Andalusians are known for their large prominent combs. So I am not saying you don't possibly have a pullet. Please keep us updated!![]()
