could this be a male?

I have a young duck that is half roen (father) and 1/2 white topknot (mother) the duck is a little over a month old and has a white ring on its neck like the male roens do but the rest of the body is still light colored. I guess my question is since it has a ring on its neck does it mean its a male? Thanks!!

I have a female mixed breed duck that started out like a tan and white Indian Runner which is what she was supposed to be but has the body type of a Peking. So she has a ring around her neck but she is a she.

Nope, sure doesnt mean a thing. My mallard crosses both female and male get the rings around their necks.
