This is a Buff Orp. The picture was taken between 3-4 weeks old.... is this a roo? It is a friend of ours and he thinks he has 2 now..... If so, we're getting one. We have 12 pullets from the same run, and they don't look like this..... Opinions?

I have (1) Buff Orpington and she barely has a comb or a waddle that big and she's about 5 months old. Just watch the back of its legs for spurs;)

Watching spurs won't be very helpful in identifying gender early on. The spurs don't usually show until about a year on buff orps. And even then, on occasion, a hen could get spurs too.

Awww- cute little guy! I just swapped some cochin chicks for buff orps- and guess what .....4 out of 5 are roos! Same age as yours- the one female has a tiny pink comb, the boys all look like that.

Anybody need a lil BO roo?

May look like a roo I agree, but Buffs can be very deceiving. The one you think is a for sure pullet, will be a roo in a few weeks. In my opinion they are one of the trickiest breeds to sex. Don't get down on the poor thing yet, it could be a pullet.
