Could this be helping?

I was sittiing out with my ladies this afternoon and looked at the dancing Sun reflections scooting around the grass. The source of the show was the spinning reflector disks we have in our fig tree near the coop. The disks are supposed to keep birds scared off from eating the figs. Doesn't really work for that purpose. Then I thought about how those reflectors catch our security lighting at night. It looks like little Blinky lights in the tree. It made me wonder if they helped keep predators away. You never know. Also a help is our Beagle who prowls about at night barking at anything that even comes near our yard. Or it might just be luck that we have not had a problem so far.

Probably your beagle is the main predator deterrent. I tried motion lights and the predators got to where when they set them off they didn't seem to notice. I do have a yard light that goes on at dusk and off at dawn. The predators don't care.
