When I was googling around researching button quail, I found a breeder who recommends low tops so they can't get much momentum on that burst flying thing they do. The cage looks good to me.

Man, I wish I could find something like that here! It would be perfect for just about any type of coturnix quail, IMO.
 
I have a 4'x1' fish tank that I'm using t brood my quail right now and it's perfect. It's also right in my living room so I can watch their every move. I wish I could come up with another tank like that for when I have to split up the bobwhites and coturnix in a few weeks. I just have ot figure out where I'm going to stash them in my crazy house.
