Could this have been the notorious squat?

I didn't see it, but my 7 year old son was outside with me while I was cleaning the run and he picked up one of my pullets and she didn't make a single noise! When I pick them up they normally scream bloody murder! I'm wondering if she didn't squat for him??? They are so close to being 20 weeks old and I'm getting really excited about that first egg... They are GLWS.

Here's a picture of her. Her comb has plumped up but she's still just pink. In the second picture the picture doesn't show how pink. They also look like they still have dry combs.

It could be. It makes it easier to catch the little buggers when then squat first! And mine do the same thing. Not a peep out of them.

Where'd you get your GLW from? Ive gotten some from cackle in the past and the rooster was huge! I ordered some SLW but the the GL male was twice as big! This was back in 2012

Has he ever picked her up before? Sometimes they just relax with kids especially if the kid isn't hyper or loud. If he's just a nice quiet boy it doesn't surprise me one bit he just picked her up without drama.

Had 10 but two were cockerels. Had to rehome them.
