Hi
I would like to keep a couple of hens, but I'm a little nervous because I live in an upscale neighborhood and the zoning laws are not on my side. See my thread at
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=20701
I found this shed kit, http://mantis.com/store/viewitem.asp?idProduct=956
and when I saw it displayed with 3 sides closed off and one long side open, it gave me an idea. Everyone around here has a shed in their yard, mine would just be storing eggs! If I angled it just right, none of my neighbors would ever see what was in it. BUT...I want to put wheels and a handle on it so I can move it around the yard. so,.........could this work? What do y'all think?
I would have a very secure coop part up at the top, and the rest of the shed would be the run.
When I was thinking about coops, I thought I had to have something low so my neighbors wouldn't see it, but if it just looks like a shed, then I can treat myself and my future girls to a walk-in (for me) coop/run. I would also put some windows in for cross ventilation if you don't think it will "give it away".
