you crossed a Barred Rock roo to Rhode Island Red hens? I'm just wondering because I miss having a BR roo around. Sal sure was pretty.

I know you get nice BSL's from the RIR x BR. My Little Shadow proves it.

Nope. All the chicks will have barring. The hen has to be the barred one. I like BR roosters, too. Have two of them still, brothers.

I have 4 RIR hens and 2 BR hens. Need at least 10 hens of each breed. But I'm keeping my 1st BSL hen and my 2 EE hens for pets.
