You could check with the local Feed store. The one in my area will take them for free then sell them. No profit there and they will probably get stewed... at least you don't have to do the deed. Good luck.

Well, what's done is done. My husband ended doing the deed,

Even as my son got home for 5the minutes, the rooster made a run at him. Before it was personal space, this time it was intended. We had no other choice...

I checked with feed stores, craigslist, even local egg seller. No wanted him and I called the feed store today after originally posting this thread and they didn't know anyone who butchers either.

i have put some rooster on craige list for free and got over 100 email about it, i think its the best way to get rid of a rooster but i would say its free dont ask for money

I'm surprised -- I usually get lots and lots of responses when I post something for free... It's getting someone to actually follow through and show up that's the hard part.

Glad your hubby was able to resolve the situation. Please don't feel badly about putting down an aggressive rooster. They aren't worth the risk. I know it would be hard for me since I've never killed an animal but sometimes that's the only reasonable solution.
