Couple REALLY Big Air Sacs... HELP PLEASE ASAP

Don't panic. I had eggs shipped from Georgia to California and many had large air cells from being ruptured during shipping. I kept my humidity at 40% day one through 18 and 65% for lockdown and I had a 100% hatch. I would however do the salt test on your hygrometer just to be sure. You shouldn't need two of your wells full to get your humidity up to 45%. I use the Exo Terra reptile hygrometer and it reads 10% low of the actual humidity so I know when it is reading 30% it is actually 40% in my incubator. What kind of incubator are you using and what kind of hygrometer are you using?

I hate to state the obvious, but if you don't plug them in, then how do they run? Mine are the Petco ones too. They seem to have to most accurate calibration ever!

Man this hatch has been trouble!

Started with 20, 7 didn't start developing and 2 were early quitters, that leaves me with only 11 left!!!

I can do better. I had three hatches in a row that were a 100% failure. I still have no clue why. I feel your pain!!!! I remember getting so frustrated, I gathered all my own mutt eggs and set them. I had a 100% hatch. Then I knew it wasn't ME!

Plug them in? Mine is just like a thermometer, except humidity... Little metal round thing...

THe Petco ones aren't digital or mercury, they have a hand. I apologize. I forget there are so many different kinds. Shouldn't everyone use what I use?

Lol. I looked for a digital one, but they were out, and I couldn't wait to get another one, so I opted for the el cheapo one.

Good, you have a Brinsea! That is what I use but I have the advance EX with the auto humidity control. Sounds like your hygrometer is the same as what I am using. I suspect your hygrometer is wrong. Do the salt test and check it. Put salt in a soda bottle cap and ad just enough water to dampen it through (not to wet) put it in a baggie with your hygrometer and seal tight. Let sit for at least 8 hours, 12 is better. After the 12 hours it should read 75%. Mine read 60% so it was 10% low. Now I mentally add 10% for an accurate reading. Good luck!
