Cover or replace manufacturer installed window covering?

Hello! My pre-made chicken coop came with heavy duty wire, which has larger holes (approx 1" x 2"), over the one window. (The opposite window has a screen which I know needs replacing.) My question is ... should I replace that existing larger wire window covering, or cover over it? I don't want to compromise durability of the coop, yet I don't want to restrict airflow by too much layering. Thanks, all!

No. It came already assembled, and just dropped off on my lawn. Seems very sturdy .. I just think maybe those holes are too large?

I'd staple 1/2" HC over the heavier stuff.
Can you take some more of the entire setup and post them please?

Eggsactly what I was going to suggest - don't want to mess up the wood by taking existing staples out.

Then the window would be SUPER secured!

Here’s the coop. It’s approx. 4x4. Still have to build the run. Five chicks are coming April 10. Thank you for responding! And for your reassurance.
