Granny's gone and done it again

I don't open the incubator until 24 hours after they start

Isn't it a hoot! I think incubating and hatching is my favorite part of chicken raising. Just so much fun.
Its so fun! Im actually really looking forward to the breeding aspects too, I like planning how to cross and get what we want. 😁

My ABI came back good. Nurse called to let me know. I asked, then why are my feet and legs now turning pink/purple up to my knees? First, just my feet. Then, up to my knees weeks later. Now into my knees. She says, oh dear, I'll talk to the Dr and call back. That was yesterday. I got a call today saying the Dr wants to see my legs again..today. Went in. He's thinking it's the Peripheral Neuropathy. So far so good no pain. Just stinging. He's happy to see it recover good when I move. Or put my legs up, which is moving. 😜 They do ..do better, with my feet up. I rarely sit without my legs up. Anyway..if I start having pain or if it keeps moving up, ha has a specialist for me to see. I can try the socks if I want, compression.
I heard about some compression stocking that zip up. Much easier to get on

@Rillowen this is the best thread on everything hatching.

How many babies do you have now? @Rillowen
@I didn't mention that I've also got Raynaud's Phenomenon. Not real bad as if yet, but dr noticed it and said it can accompany Neuropathy. Some of my toes go white. 🤨 It can be painful when happening but because that half of my feet go numb I dont notice.
Then is that why your legs turn color? Have you had a Doppler to make sure there's no blockages?

That's what I was concerned about, especially if it gets better after elevation.. sounds like a blockage keeping the blood down so it pools, or the veins arent retracting like they should, I forget what thats called. I have the body cavity equivalent "pelvic congestion".

It felt odd going out today w/o a jacket
I did chores in shorts and a tee shirt today, It rained a short shower and caught me at one of the coops. I just pulled my cart into the coop and waited until it stopped. I can't keep my eyes open so I'm headed to bed. Sweet dreams everyone.

I usually just crack the top fast and long enough to grab a chick that has hatched and fluffed to keep it from soccer balling the other eggs around the incubator. I've had chicks roll pipped eggs onto the pip and had to stick a couple of fingers in to roll it upright again.
I just set the eggs in the bottom half of an egg carton to hatch. No rolling around.
