We have a dog but it does not deter the darn skunk that comes to our yard nightly to visit and dig up my garden...we are talking big ole holes right next to the peas, tomatoes, peppers, etc. I have replanted several times because of it! Set a trap last night but did not catch it...will add peanut butter to the trap tonight!
We are hot here...this week we are hitting the 100's, so our run will be covered with green fiberglass to give them plenty of shade. Will use 2x4 welded wire for sides with hardware cloth 2 to 3 feet up and an apron of 2x4 wire where needed.
We do not live in the country but I know big dogs in my neighborhood can get into our fenced yard...they already have repeatedly...we have lots of feral cats and skunks plus hawks roost in our trees at times.
