coyote killed my little buff

My husband just bought an assault rifle "to shoot coyotes". We'll see if it ever even comes out of the gun cabinet. I've had problems with them here too. The mink are the worst though!

Sorry for your loss. I don't think she suffered. Coyotes kill pretty quick.

Sorry to hear about your coyote problem. We also have them really bad here in Ohio, my uncle and I trapped over 20 this winter.
I would suggest that you stay away from bird shot it really does not retain enough mass to penetrate reliably, stick with anything from
#4 buckshot to slugs. Personally I would use a rifle as suggested earlier.

In my area we are just starting to see the things. Two years we had a new born donkey with horrific wound near her jugular. She almost died. My husband has killed a couple, but has shot at more than that. I keep my dog near the coop at night for that very reason. Have also seen lots of foxes near the house in the past two years, I believe they are getting over populated around here.

Nice pic Jimmythechicken...one feels kinda sorry for the little trapped critter,until you know the hell and hovac they cause as adults...! Sounds and looks like you have things under control at your place...! Keep the heat on them, you know there are plenty to take place of those removed...!!
