Coyotes.....becoming a problem?...folks around Glenwood...Amity....Kirby???? Please respond

Couple of nights ago I heard my outside dogs barking like crazy. The next day got a call from the neighbor that borders our property on the back side and he was missing a few turkeys..and he was wondering if they came to our flock, but they did not.....and then today a neighbor a mile down the road has found feathers from his turkey hens...So if anyone in our "neighborhood" hears or sees these predators please post a thread or reply to this one to keep our birds safe...thank you

Better lock your poultry up .Your dogs have already alerted you and let you know they're around.They've gotten your neighbors already and will be back!If you don't have a predator proof coop for your chickens you need to move them temporarily.

Foxes and other predators come for the mice and wild birds attracted to the chicken feed and stay for the chicken dinners.

The scent will carry for miles and rodents are the fox's main food source. Not sure about a fox's vision but some raptors can see UV and rodent urine is fluorescent in UV light. A huge bright neon sign pointing to your coop. Rodents piss constantly as they move around, leaving bright trails of scent or color pointing right at your chickens.

So, make sure you have something stronger than chicken wire protecting your chickens and control the vermin that might be attracted to your coop.
