So this morning my dog was barking a lot off and on and we had told my dad to bring him in, well of course he didn't, but no sooner did he stop barking at that (2 separate dogd apparently) did a coyote walk by!!.
This was like 10am too though I know it's a myth they're rabid if theyre out in the day. .
But apparently he didn't go in the yard, just crossed from one patch of woods to another and the path happens to be clear and is kind of in our yard but hardly.
Anyhow, Gator FREAKED OUT. We managed to get him inside but my dad undid the rope at the door instead of inside the house which normally is fine cause he goes right in and is a good boy but in this case he could have turned back around and gone after the coyote. But anyway, my dad says the coyote was a runt and really brazen too. I mean, apparently when Gator started barking he perked up and looked right at him but didn't stop or change pace or anything. That made Gator REALLY mad. My dad thinks it's the same one that wouldn't move when he was mowing. I hadn't heard this story but apparently one time he was mowing and a coyote was sitting on top of the hill looking at him so he made loud noises to shoo it and it still wouldn't budge so he started driving the tractor up the hill and it STILL wouldn't budge. Coyotes around here are really brazen.... and most are pretty big but this one wasnt but my dad said it could have been because he's used to how big Gator is but still. And actually one time there was one sitting on the bowl too (our yard has a real low bowl/ditch, yard is mostly a giant bowl) then the driveway then a big hill.) And I saw him and so did gator and he just stared at us. But actually, that particular one may have been the fox.... pretty sure that one was a fox actually. either way, this time was a coyote and animals around here are ridiculously brazen.
