crack corn

we feed mostly layer pellets, I let them out in the evening for a while to scratch around and eat whatever they find and always throw cracked corn in thier run to get them back in the coop before dark.

I give my RIR's cracked corn--I sprinkle a handful or maybe 1/2 a can on the ground, when I think of it along with TOO MANY tomatoes that didn't turn out sweet this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TOTAL RANT

If my birds were free range they would have taken the tomatoes, anyway.

I always fill their bowl with layer feed, too.

BTW, this is for 10 7-month-olds.

I know someone who feeds their birds entirely whole corn but theyre free range so that could make a difference
