Cracked an egg. HELP!!!

I opened my Top hatch incubator to candle and the lid slipped and hit one of my duck eggs. day 20 in incubation...nothing is bleeding and the membrane does not appear to have been broken...but it is more than a crack. it is a dent at the least. Can I fix it?

candle wax a bandaid something?

I dont mind losing them when something goes wrong but to think that i might have just killed this little pekin makes me really sad.

HELP!

Candle wax or nail polish.

do i just fill the hole in with the wax?

i think i would lightly paint it with the wax just to keep the moisture in.

Well when i put the wax in, it kind of seeped into the underside of the shell where the dent was. I think i got all the cracks covered. Heres my fix job...

all i have are bithday candles...hence the blue.

But the baby inside is still moving. If it makes it to tomorrow am I in the clear?

Will the wax melt in the bator?

Will it cause problems hatching?

I could just cry right now. I feel so bad.

I saw a video on youtube called "fixing a cracked egg" and the lady uses liquid "bandaid" ask the pharmacy . Great video instructions .

I dropped one and cracked the shell on day 17. I slapped a piece of scotch tape on mine and darned if it wasn't the first egg to peep, pip and zip. It hatched yesterday healthy and strong!
