I has this fertile egg in my loft that I found cracked, but still alive. I covered the hole with a medical tape and it was fine after that.

But it hatched a few hours ago and the baby pigeons yolk hasn't been absorbed at all... I am very worried that it'll die... But the baby seems strong at the moment and I want to know if it has a chance to survive...

What can I do to help it? I've never had a underdeveloped baby bird before, so I want to give it the best chance at living.

Thanks...

Unfortunately the baby passed away shortly after posting this thread. I have been too busy to respond early then now...

I have a baby pigeon that looks deformed and the umbilical cord or what ever it is is still there. So i have been busy with that....

Thank you for the advice nuthatched... I just wish that he survived...

It will probably absorb, try to keep it from moving so it doesn't bust the yolk, search unabsorbed yolk in the search box, there will be many threads with the info you need. ;]
I need help please i had grown a tree in my front yard and there was a pigeon nest day every day I used to come see the pigeons but today I didnt see the mother bird or the egg I was looking for it and then I found it on the ground it was cracked . I could see the newborn in there it was moving I open the egg shell and it was still alive . It has a little feathers but it can't even open its beak it even can't open its eyes . I don't know what to do right now I covered it up with fluffy pieces of cloth. Should i put a heat lamp ? . What should I feed it ? . Also when I opened the shell all the liquid inside came out . I'm not sure you can save it, it doesn't sound like it was fully developed. Can you post a photo?
