I’m just wondering how old chicks and ducklings need to be before you can start feeding cracked corn( as a treat)

They CAN eat it cracked at any age and a mother hen may show it to them but I stick with starter feed till they are nearly grown. It is formulated to be complete nutritionally for young birds (albeit a little deficient in niacin and some amino acids for ducklings).
Adding corn to the diet cuts the crude protein. They just don't need it. The main ingredient in most feeds is already corn.
So if you want to provide optimal nutrition, refrain from adding more corn to the diet.

I definitely don't use cracked corn and my scratch grain I buy has minimal corn. I also only use it once a week.
Definitely healthier treats to feed birds. Fresh veggies and fruit once or twice a week.

Ok I have also planted a garden just outside their run that once it starts growing they will be able to reach their head through and eat the veggies and herbs

I leave the use of cracked corn--mixed in with other seeds in scratch --only during the cold months the extra fat is helpful then. Otherwise, they really don't need it if they are free-ranging and/or getting a good balance feed.

Simple solution is don't feed it at all. It isn't good for them. Much better things available. Keep them on the bagged feed made for them. If you feel you need to offer corn, cut a small piece of fresh corn on the cob and give them that. The youngsters shouldn't be getting much of anything by way of treats. It throws off the nutrition in the feed they should be eating.
