Once again, I discovered the egg cracked at one end to where almost all of the shell was broken off and then the other end is cracked also. Don't know how she did it. Its not supposed to hatch till wednesday. I put bandaids over each end till it finishs developing. Hopefull it will work.

Any ideas of what else I can do?

If push comes to shove and need to take it out from underneath the mother, how do I create a incubator to keep it warm?

Do a search for "home made incubator".

There are at least two or three step by step threads on the forum.

Good luck.... sometimes broodies just get a little heavy on the eggs.

So yesterday I left the chick under the mother and it had maybe 80% of the shell left. As of today it has maybe 30%. The chick is still alive and you can see it squirming around inside the thin membrane. It's her second time trying to hatch chicks (first time no success) so she's still new to this. Luckily I have another bird who just went broody and is more delicate with the eggs so I put an egg and the egg without the shell under her. This will be her 3rd hatch this year. The eggs should be hatching around Wednesday so hopefully this little guys will do ok. I'll put pics up soon and keep everyone updated.

I searched it so now I just have to get the supplies. Has anyone ever done a incubator with a old fish tank though?

So the last chick didn't survive but now have anotherone with a cracked shell. Its about 19 says old. I put it in a 10 gallon fish tank with a cover. I have the temperature at about 99 degrees, theres a fan to circulate the air, and a bowl of water for humidy. Anything else I need to do?
