What day is it on on? What kind of egg? This exact thing just happened to me, its a light crack near the air cell. Should I tape it or leave it alone?

Day 18, smallish barred rock eggWhat day is it on on? What kind of egg?
If its a small crack, with no exposed membrane, I'd probably just leave it be, it's close enough to hatch that it should in theory be okayDay 18, smallish barred rock egg
Okay, thanks! If its a small crack, with no exposed membrane, I'd probably just leave it be, it's close enough to hatch that it should in theory be okay
Sorry, I just saw your post now. Did you put candle wax or tape and did it hatch? This exact thing just happened to me, its a light crack near the air cell. Should I tape it or leave it alone?
Some people said to just leave it alone and I did. unfortunately it didnt hatch but 3 of my other healthy eggs didnt either and showed no signs of life even though they were fully developedSorry, I just saw your post now. Did you put candle wax or tape and did it hatch?
That’s too bad. I just had some shipped eggs that the shipper didn’t specify Fragile or any warnings on the box so all the eggs had severely detached air cells and only 2 hatched on their own. I had to help 2 others out of their shell and 1 of them is not doing well. It’s so hard when we don’t get successful hatches. Some people said to just leave it alone and I did. unfortunately it didnt hatch but 3 of my other healthy eggs didnt either and showed no signs of life even though they were fully developed
Wow, what a great success story Thank you for sharing.UPDATE: A beautiful olive egger chick hatched successfully. The opposite end of the air cell was pretty badly cracked and also down the side. So happy with the outcome.
Really sorry for your loss; it happened to me also; from 4 eggs ( fully developed/died) 1 cute rooster hatched perfectly healthy; the other 3 mysteriously died at the end. Some people said to just leave it alone and I did. unfortunately it didnt hatch but 3 of my other healthy eggs didnt either and showed no signs of life even though they were fully developed
I'd try nail polish if you have it, I find it easier to use than wax and more effective than tape. This exact thing just happened to me, its a light crack near the air cell. Should I tape it or leave it alone?
