Please help! I have searched the forums with very little helpful information arising. Usually I find more than I need. Our eggs have been fine up until today. We have had some calcium deposits and some wrinkled tips, but today..... I have an egg that looks completely cracked, one with a bulge and big wrinkles, some with many wrinkles and another that has little calcium deposits all over it.
Questions:
What would cause this all of a sudden?
What is meant by stress during calcifying?
When is calcifying, so I can locate a stressors for that time?
What would cause this stress? Weather, other chickens, ducks, getting scraps, and not getting scraps, us......?
The whole bronchitis thing is freaking me out? They all appear fine.
How can bronchitis be treated? Do I need to get medicated feed?
Are the eggs still good?
Thank you to anyone who is willing to help me. I lost half my chickens this time last year to someone's dog that came around. It was our first summer with them. I was devastated. I have regrown my flock and have been vey protective and careful with them.
