Cracked egg with chick developing??

Don't worry, the egg won't explode so long as the baby is alive and well! (Exploding eggs are due to decomposing gases/bacteria within the egg from a quitter)

With any luck, the baby should make it! Just be sure to always have *clean* hands when handling. The wax is also another way to help seal the egg- though, considering the baby's made it this far, I'd personally leave it be. Congrats on your first hatch though! It's always super exciting. Keep us updated!

I’d try to keep track of how the chick does, but it looks just like the 4 other barnevelder chicks that hatched. I can’t tell them apart.

I love that! One of these chicks will definitely be named Lucky. They all look the same but I’ll know one was the “lucky” chick. Lol
