Cracked egg?

I know this is old but I had two that got some ugly cracks when I accidentally dropped the thermometer on them when moving them around. They were about 2 weeks into incubation. One actually bled a little so I assume that the membrane had been punctured. I immediately sprayed them down with peroxide to kill any bacteria then took some candle wax and melted it on the cracks using a fireplace lighter. Once it melted I smoothed it out with my finger. I candled to make sure I covered all the cracks. One had quite a large area to be covered. Well, both recently hatched without any troubles. Just wanted to give my experience. I personally think that bacteria and dehydration would be the biggest problems. Peroxide seemed to have taken care of the bacteria and the wax, the dehydration. Good luck to anyone else with these issues.

Thought I'd add here, a week or so ago I was checking eggs and a hen pecked one (was fertile) while I put it back and put a small hole in it. So quickly put some candle wax on it and left it be actually forgot about it. The other day it hatched! :jumpy:celebrate
