Last night This egg I candled looked great...this morning it was good when I turned it, then this afternoon when I went to turn it, it was very cracked! Still a week away from hatch date...so how and why did it crack? I sealed the cracks with wax. Seems now every time I go check it, it has more cracks! All I can think of is the chick has grown too big for the egg. Its a Silkie and really small egg. Has anyone experienced this? Is it possible that the chick is growing too big for the egg? If not why would the egg just crack? It is in an incubator. All other eggs in there are fine.
