I had an accident while candling eggs that where in my incubator and cracked an egg. I knew the egg was fertile and the embryo was still alive, I was just about to throw the egg away when I got an idea......scotch tape. I slapped a piece of tape on the crack even though I was pretty sure I was wasting my time, I kept an eye on the egg, ready to throw it away if I saw signs that the embryo had died but it never did, in fact it was the first to hatch and it's healthy and happy as I write this. You might want to keep some scotch tape near your incubator in case of an accident and you want to give it a try.

Funny to see this. I just scotch taped a silkie egg that I had an oops with this morning. Hatched many a cracked ones this way.
