Hi, I was trying to move my broody hen off of her eggs because she stole some I didn't want to hatch. In the process, she knocked one out of the nesting box, and just the shell cracked.
The eggs are just a few days away from hatching, and I want to save the egg if possible, but I don't know how. I'm worried if I put it back under mama hen that she'll accidentally puncture it. (There's about a quarter size piece of shell missing.)
I don't have an incubator unfortunately.
