You can store them up to 10 days without major loss of fertility. Ideal storage conditions are around 55 to 60 degrees and 50% humidity. Even cool room temperatures are OK. You should also turn them every day at least once. One good way to store them is in a little bed of something soft like pine shavings or sawdust, that way they are cushioned and easy to turn.
