They are saying that the blue swedish is endangered and that she should be selling her's for $50+ To me that sounds very price because i sell mine at $10 each. Is that a real price for blue swedish?

I see them as often as Pekin and Mallards from $5-$20 each here. Seems high to me.

The arent that rare, sure you dont see them alot, but really? Is this a duckling? Or a adult? Welsh harlequins are more rare then them and I saw a add for them for $20 as adult female.

Show Quality BLUE Swedish are worth 50.00 each. I would value them at more than that. Hatchery quality on the other hand, no way. I have seen some very nice Blues over the years by a couple top breeders and they sell their birds reasonably cheap, but if you are going to go through all the trouble and feed out all those birds in order to raise a showable bird with proper number of white flight feathers, nice bib and proper markings, I wouldn't sell it for 50 it wouldn't leave or be more than that. Blacks and Silvers, although you need them for breeding, have little value in my opinion. They can't be shown, and even if they have great markings, there is little use for them in the show realm because they are an off color. I've seen a few nice blacks, but never personally seen any nice silver Swedish. If you want nice ones, I would try to contact Dan Fenner in MN/WI. He has excellent ones! The ones pictured are far from show quality. I wouldn't even consider them if I was looking for that breed.

Seems like a fair price to me... they are a pretty common hatchery variety. I picked 2 out of my feed store brooder for 2$ apiece as 2 week olds (clearance for the next shipment) and there were many more blues I could have picked from at that price. I picked a black sweede and a rouen (or mallard, time will tell). The blues are really laid back and easy going like my welshies, but the black is extremely high strung.... she's highest on my cull list at the moment.

Anyway, sure the Swedish are on the watch list.... but so is essentially every duck breed besides mallard, pekin and muscovy.

Swedish ducks are a long ways from being endangered. Every hatchery in the country sells Blue Swedish of very often exceptionally poor quality.

Good quality Blue Swedish are very difficult to come by, and cost a lot more money than hatchery Swedish. The photos in that ad don't show the ducks well enough to estimate their quality. Because the seller doesn't really seem to know what they are talking about, I suspect that the ducks aren't show quality. But I could be wrong about that. And maybe the seller is knowledgeable and trying to increase the saleability by exaggerating a bit.

I don't think that $25 is an unreasonable price for a good quality duck, especially if it is the correct age to butcher. If you are interested in buying the ducks and don't want to pay that much, you could always make an offer.

The feed store where i lives sells babies for 3 $ i don't think there anywhere near endangered. i think someones trying to con you out of some money or they dont know what they're doing... $50 seems to much $15-25 for a nice young adult is usually where i try sell my pures, but its like buying houses they are worth what people will pay for them.

looks like she's selling them for $25 each. If they were hatched in June then they're close to the point of lay... so I don't think the price is totally unfair. The pictures are not very good in her ad but I think there's a little haggle room. If you want all 5 (including the drake), I'd offer her $80 and see if she'll give you a deal if you take the entire lot off her hands. She may counter with $90 but it's still a good deal at that price. $18 is a fair price for a duck that you didn't have to feed, house and protect for 5 months to get them to the point of lay. She's probably spent at least $25 each since June to care for them.
