Update
I have a appointment set up for this Sunday, meeting the guy at a church parking lot so auntie doesn't even have to be involved.
He is taking the 13 she needs to get rid of and giving us 3 bags of Layena for them, not bad about $2.54/bird which is about what they would sell for at an auction around here and that's on the high side, only get that price if there happens to be just a few roosters, which rarely happens.
Called auntie last night to give her the news and to make up her mind which of the roos she wants to keep. She is happy for her hens but sad for herself.
She told me she would decide and spray paint his foot red so I knew which one it was

She will be at church and then to lunch with the church ladies she she won't be there to point out the lucky devil

.

It is the guy that plans on making them dinner for his snakes, NO did not tell auntie. She didn't ask any questions and I didn't offer any more information other then what the deal was.

Sounds like a good deal. Now keep our fingers crossed

that he isnt a craigslist flake. Although thats a good deal if he has large snakes....

Nancy,
I hope I covered myself on that one, I got his home number and then did a reverse look up on-line and it appears to check out.

I will be a little ticked if I catch, load and drive 13 roos to town and the guy doesn't show.

yay! hope it all works out. honestly i've found most people to be really nice. here's hoping!

:-)

ps great work for helping her out - she is lucky to have you

Yes. Let us know how it goes. It's very nice of you to help your aunt in this hardship.

I hope the guy shows!

Update,

I drive out to aunties Sunday morning, she has gone to church by the time I get there, so I go out to load the roosters and I'm wondering which roo she has decided to keep (of the 14 roos she has 6 different breeds) I open the coop door and their he was, stood out like a rooster with a red spray painted foot (which is how she told me she would identify him.) She kept the Speckled Sussex, which if I was a betting guy is the roo I would have laid money on, sure is a pretty boy.
So load them up, meet the guy at a church parking lot and made the exchange. Nice guy, I was surprised by his age, late 50's to early 60's. I just was expecting a much younger fella seeing that the roos will be feed to his two boa's. He said his snakes are about 6 feet long, he actually had pictures

He told me that they will get one about every month or so. He said there are times especially in the winter that they won't eat. He said that he can put a chicken in there enclosure and go back a few hours later and the chicken is looking back at him, so he remove it. He says if they don't consumer it within the first hour or so they are not hungry.
I asked where do you keep them until they are all gone. he said he had a dog kennel with a rabbit hutch type thing for shelter.

Anyway, it's done. Spent the day with auntie and midway through the day with her chickens ranging about the place. She said, "I can tell already the hens are happier, when I look at them I don't see a darn h-r-e- rooster on top of them"
