Craigslist

Ads in the pet section are flagged regularly here too. Like someone said, put in in the farm and garden section.

There are no mods on CL. Anyone can flag ads, so self appointed do gooders think it's their responsiblity to patrol everything animal related lol.

Thanks for all the sugestions I'm finally carming down. That was the first time I ever tried any thing on Craigslist. Maybe its a hint to keep all 25 LOL . Little under 3 weeks left and they'll be here. Cleaning up dining room for the brooders. My wife hates this. She doesn't have a dining rom for 8 weeeks

I think most of the flaggers have nothing better to do. They just sit home all day being the Craigslist police. What they don't realize is they are actually helping you. Every-time they flag your ad it goes back to the top of the list when you re-post it and it doesn't get buried in the listings.

I think you're right! I had an ad flagged because I was looking for chickens to be 'pets' not meat. lol I took out the word pets and it was fine. Apparently you're not allowed a post to buy or sell pets at all on craigslist. So if you list your pigs, cows...horses even, as pets they will get flagged. Even though they are legitimate farm animals and ARE allowed on craigslist. It's ridiculous!
List them as straight run chicks the day you get them. Should be fine.

Edited to add: in your 'your post was flagged and removed' email, there is a link to the craigslist board. Make a post asking why it was removed, copy and paste your ad into there. The people that hang on that board are very good at pointing out what needs changed! Good luck.

I had the sme problem posting on the farm section of craigslist. I had 2 separate ads. One was looking for rabbits and the other was looking to split some hatchery orders. Both were flagged. I put them up on different days. I was both annoyed and confused. I guess I will just keep posting.

I am going to try and do a post the same way here in TX see if it works. I dont need all my order either. Have to let you know later at work now and can not get on craigslist.

I hate Craigslist for that! I was flagged trying to give away hens/roos in the farm and Garden section. I tried the free section, was flagged there too! I gave up! I flagged one time. It was an ad by some guy just being an idiot, trying to upset people. He was asking for cats for his land so he and his buddies would have something to shoot at! He also kept re posting, saying that every time he was flagged he would shoot another cat.

Maybe some idiot thought you were going to chop chicks in half?

ETA: Make sure you are advertising in the Farm & Garden section where sales of farm animals is allowed. The folks in the pet section consider baby animals as a result of "breeding," which is a big no-no for that section.

I agree. I always list my chicks and chickens in the farm and garden section and it never gets flagged. My experience is there are a bunch of crazies in the pet section who just love to flag. Good luck to you! I have always had really good luck using Craigslist.

You could also try posting a notice here on the BYC Buy/Sell/Trade section. It might be better to deal with a fellow BYCer in your area. Or post a notice at your local feed store. Or split the order with your feed store itself.

Otherwise, let them grow & strengthen for a few weeks and sell them as started chicks. You may get more $ for them then, plus you will be sure to have enough to replace any early quitters. And you can be more certain of their sex as they get older.
