I have 2 roosters who have always got along pretty well. Lately "Rocky" has become quite aggressive towards the other one "Rambo". Rocky chases Rambo constantly and pecks him. Won't even allow him out in the yard. Rambo is always hiding. Will they get over this or do I have to get rid of one of them?

Couple questions.

What breed are they?

How old are they?

Are there other chickens (mainly hens) around?

I would rehome one. Hens around will cause them to be aggressive towards one another and that's due to hormones and hens being around. Barred rocks are generally a medium aggressive breed.

They are 5 months old and yes there are hens around
Are the 'hens' the same age as the cockerels?
Young cockerels are rowdy....and reach sexual maturity before pullets
Multiple males create an environment of competition so they behave even more aggressively towards one another and toward any females.

FYI they are called pullets and cockerels before one year of age, hens and cocks(or cockbirds or roosters) after one year of age.

Yes, I have one of them on line to try to rehome him. Thanks for your help.
