Well i really dont wont to tear the thing down to rearrange it all so ill build the roost under the nest box a lil off the groung and make something to catch the crap so i can clean it out ill just have to try it that way.

My Nesting box is 9" off the ground. My chickens love it, and i have yet to have an egg outside of it.

My nest boxes are high as well, but my roost is higher. If we ever hatch chicks I'll have to modify the nests.

Don't know what you're working with, but could you make your roost perpendicular to the nests maybe? Perhaps resting on the top of the box or something? Or make a few small roosts going up a corner?
