Not sure if acquiring these would count as a good deal. Seems more problematic to treat the issues. Culling and restarting may be the most humane solution. They may be inbred, hence your problems. Inbreeding is a serious problem with colony breeding.

I agree with it not being such a "good deal" - no self respecting animal keeper would pass off obviously ill animals, to make it your problem now :/

Yeah, the owner probably kept them on wire with overly large gaps. It looks like the bird was unable to stand on the wire so had to sit. That might explain the lack of feather on the belly, inability to stand and inflammed joints.
