The copper black hens are in with this roo

and all the hens are out of these exact eggs and all have at one time or another laid this dark. Color really does vary if you change feed, or your niece comes over and collects feathers, some of them right off the birds. She has a screw loose and chases my chickens sometimes. Anyhow, here's the egg color these hens hatched out of and more or less lay on a good day.

Bid early! Bid often! Don't let these get away!!!

Did I mention that I have cool packs in the freezer? They come with the dog vaccines and I can send as many as you want for $2/apiece, same as what they charged me...

I have boiled and scrambled every egg in the house, so starting with this afternoon is how old your oldest eggs will be with the "per egg" auction. If you would like a different ship date I will be happy to accomodate. I'm easy.

They are only laying one or two eggs a day right now, plus it is hot. Want to wait until the weather cools off some? I can start saving for you and scare up a half dozen or so. I think I have three in the kitchen, but there were zero today... It is kind of hit and miss. Also, the eggs I would send you would be F2, so only a fifty fifty chance for mille fleur potential coloring on each egg, (so they should be half price, or you should get twice as many is what I am saying.)

I got a freaky mix for anyone interested... How about white silkie showgirl over black mottled cochin girls? The roo is really sweet, has outstanding dark pigment on his head and neck but no blue earlobes. He has a pea comb instead of a walnut comb. He has excellent toe separation between 4 & 5. He appears to be heterozygous for Naked Neck, but at this point I have not hatched any of his eggs. He has very nice "shreddy" wing and tail feathers and a nice cushion. He is VERY SWEET natured too. VERY sweet! He is a strong breeder and has a slightly quieter crow than my other boys. Here are some pics of him.

and the girls. I am getting two or three eggs a day right now, but it is hot. No promises but i'd think I can do a half dozen. Happy to substitute a few F2 mille fleur cochin eggs if I come up short, or add a few as extras just cuz.

Edit, forgot the girl pix! D'oh!!!
