Okay I am new to peacocks and chickens. I have some sick birds and have been trying to treat with vetrx. It seems to be staving off the illness but not remedying it. So from what I have seen on here is to treat with antibiotics. Tynal, or bay trip (sp?) To get these I will have order off Amazon which then will take shipping time. Not sure if the time will hinder their progress. I do have left over antibiotics that we have taken. Cipro is one specifically that I have which when I looked it up said it is a sister drug to baytril... they are close enough to being the same drug... soooo, should I try crushing it and giving that because I have it on hand or do I take my chances of ordering off amazon?

tetravet or tetracycline is a great one, its what we use in NZ it comes in varying amounts and strengths. its a powder that you mix into their water. the water needs to be refreshed every 24-36 hours as the antibiotics don't last longer than that as in they start to die off in the water, that and the water turns a brown colour when it needs replacing. it cannot be left in sunlight/ full sunlight as it goes off quicker

Okay I didn't think of tractor supply. I checked all the local feed suppliers.

They are rubbing their beaks and scratching at their heads. A little shaking heads. A few a little sluggish and breathing with beaks open, yawning. Also I noticed one peacock has a little bark and he is not into eating unless it's treats. A person on here told me it looked like he had swollen eye. With the vetrx it has gotten better and he is more active but still not bouncing back and now other birds seem to be acting a bit off

Tylan 200 if they have the small bottle and if your peas have a respiratory infection. Tylan 50 will also work, but you have to give more.
