Hello everyone! I'm a proud member of the Alaska FFA Association, turning 17, and mother and grandmother of a small flock of chickens<3
I like to call my birds by name, so you'll probably hear about: Blondie, my favorite white ameraucana/easter egger bird-child. Savory, Blondie's almost-exact twin. Fifi, the golden-sexlink. Barbie Queen a.k.a. BBQ, mom's Rhode Island Red. Igneous, the Plymouth Barred Rock. B.B. the ever noisy brown and black laced Easter Egger. And finally the Brick, who is now at a different homestead on the dark side of the island, with many a girl-hen and lots of love to go around.
I've just recently hatched twelve more chicks, all mutts, except for the Easter Eggers. I;m not keeping all twelve, but we're keeping two black chicks, Frodo and Trouble who belong to my niece and nephew, and possibly a white one named Butter. I would absolutely love it if my parents would let me have just a few Silkies, and I'm looking to replace the vacant position of rooster with a Sultan. Brick's problem was that he was getting too people aggressive, and I'd like to give a Sultan a shot at the position. Because, you see, we live in a place with almost the largest population of Bald Eagle. We also have the world's second biggest breed of bear, and to top it off we have ermine as well... Oh, and neighborhood dogs. Yet, we've never lost a full-grown bird... So if you've ever had a Sultan, I'd love to hear about it!<3
I think the only other thing worthy of mentioning is that I'm looking to pursue post-secondary education for Verterinary Medicine. So I can join a career as an exotic animals vet.. Come back to my hometown, take on an apprentice because we have no exotic animal vets, and then travel the world to work at zoo's, and then finally become an astronaut and discover a real live xenomorph and become the new Ellen Ripley and save the world
