My mom had a Black Copper Marans that she thought was being badly picked on and asked if I could take it. I agreed and brought her home. She is missing half her feathers. I have been trying to integrate her into the flock but turns out the Marans is the one ripping out her own feathers and mean to the other birds. She hogs all the food and attacks anyone that goes near it. I finally had to put her back into the quake time coop where she has her own private area next to the other coop. Everyone can see each other. She went so nuts trying to go after the chickens she broke a small tip off of her top beak. Her run is covered in her feathers and she won't stop ripping them out. She also gets upset and stops laying for days at a time. She's only a year old is there any saving this chicken. Oh she does get along ok, for short periods and as long as no food is around, with my older Buff Orpington so I let them free range together for several hours at a time but if a treat comes out, or the Orpington dare find s bug it's like she goes insane and is out for blood.
