I have 4 hens and a rooster. Unimaginatively he is called Roo. He has white legs (I believe they are called shanks in chicken lingo? ) with feathery tufts. Of my 3 Brown hens, one has got yellow shanks. Her name is Iddy. The two others are Miss Marple and Penny. Then I have a black 'n white 'n brown speckled hen. Her name is Specks. *rolls eyes* She has yellow shanks and tufts of white on them. She is setting on 12 eggs. Her eggs I love most. They are slightly browner than the other 3s whiter eggs, and stronger too. I hope her eggs hatch.

Bug, my olive egger (BCMxAmerucana) pullet started singing her egg song yesterday!

And Goose, my standard cochin started singing today!

I figured since I was so eggsited (🤓 that's right I said it!) and although my man loves and supports my chicken craziness, he doesn't share my enthusiasm for each new milestone... so as soon as I saw this thread, I thought this is the PERFECT place to share my happiness! I can't wait to see those first eggs! :celebrate

(Both pics were taken about a month ago, so both girls are considerably redder in the face now!)

Yesterday was the day! At least it was for Goose, my cochin! She laid her first pretty little pullet egg, all adorably tiny and torpedo like!I always get such a kick out of these first teeny weeny eggs, especially since she's such a big, big girl! :love
