Crazy for damp crumble!

I wet their feed from when they hatch until they go out. They never get bored of it and I can't usually tell when they are out. They are loud, even if they have dry feed. They really prefer wet feed.

Yes, mine hardly touch their dry food anymore now. Twice a day they get all excited for their damp feed. It really has cut down out food waste. I can even dampen the powdery parts of their feed and use that. I can't be quite sure yet, but I seem to see less feather picking, too. One little banty in particular was pecking feathers on just about everybody, like an annoying little sister. The small bare patches seem to be less red now. Who knows? Cool if it works for that; that chick was really annoying me.

You want to have some entertainment...... Make them some plain oatmeal just a little on the thin side. They learn to wipe their beaks on the pullet next to them pretty quickly. If that is not funny enough to watch, wait till the one that is still hungry sees that everyone else has it all over them from all that wiping. Now that is real entertainment to watch one chase the others to pick it off. Its like a mobile buffet.
