Hi - My usually quiet hens made such a crazy racket very early this am. It has been unusually hot the last few days. What would cause them to make such a racket? These were my 11 month old layers (we have no rooster) and they were making the most aweful LOUD wailing squalk. Could it be that the sun has changed positions( I did see early sun falling in the run) and this is making them more vocal? We tried to let them out to free range make them stop, but that seemed to just make things worse. Suggestions? I thought hens with no rooster were quiet - and they have been...
