Yay, Sunnyvale!
How did your chicken math work out?
I am running into the same sort of problem...
My original order of five female bantam chicks arrived early April, with two dead, and a third weak (she passed away within a day of arriving home). Since I lost more than half my order, the hatchery is doing a replacement shipment, but I had to order two more chicks to meet their minimum shipment... so I am receiving five more female bantam chicks early May.
So I have two chicks in the brooder now, who will be a month old and still in the house, when five more babies arrive... I am planning on keeping the younger ones in a separate brooder, but will need to find another home for a few of them in the long run, because my coop isn't big enough for seven chickens! They are all supposed to be female though, so maybe finding a home for them will be easier.
