G'day everyone,
Mumma Chook here from down under.
I am on my 4th hatch. So far i have had 100% hatching on the last 2 sets. I only have a small incubator that holds 8 eggs. I set 7 last month and all hatched. Unfortunately 3 are now no longer with me. It is heart breaking when you loose any. I had the tiniest grey chick that just did not pick up. I nursed it for 4 days but on the 5th day she went to sleep and slipperd away.
I have Isa Brown hens a gorgeous black Frizzle Rooster. (He is the last photo) .The off springs so far are amazing. My first hatch of 3 eggs brought out 1 white hen named Daisy , a beautiful huge white and black rooster named Cornelius and a milk chocolate Frizzle Rooster name Friz. (Friz's photo below).
My 2nd hatch was only 1 egg as (I had to buy a different incubator and as it was new i didnt want to loose any chicks). I hatched out a white with black spots chick ( sex unknown yet) and i am mum. That one is named Pip. Photo below of myself and pip.
So now i have set 8 eggs and so far all are doing well. Due out on 12th Sept.
Well that is the short and sweet of me and mine.
Cheers.
