Crazy rich people!!

I suffer from barn envy also. And pipe fencing, and concrete driveways, and verdant hay fields,...............and the list goes on. DH and I are working hard and we will get there. Right now we are tickled with a 3 sided lean to for the horses. lol

If they are rich, they certainly did not get that way, from farming and raising animals in their barn.

Rich people are not lucky, unless they won the lottery. They are rich because they and/or their family worked hard and were intelligent. They networked with people who are also hard working and intelligent, who like them and trust them to make the right choices when given responsibility.

If mom and dad are stock brokers, they are required (by law, because they are *responsible* for their investor's money) to be at work during the hours of the market being open. Yes, even if they are sick or if their llamas are sick. Would it be responsible to raise a bunch of animals if you are required to be at work?

Don't think of it as a barn. Imagine how silly people would think we were if we tried to put a barn in the gymnasium? The barn at the place I used to live housed collector's cars. To give you an idea... my Jaguar XJ-12 did not make the cut and had to be stored outside. :(

One of my favourite quotes: "The harder I work, The luckier I get."

Actually, there are many ways to accumulate wealth, ranging from being an organized sociopath to heading new trends to saving to investing to inheritance to working hard to hardly working. For instance, if I decide to pursue an occupation I am interested in, I would come out the other end making 100 dollars per hour doing a job that basically equates to sitting around and talking. Does that mean I work over ten times harder then friends who are holding down 2 to 3 minimum wage jobs (some working a mix of nights and days) and struggling to pay the bills? That I am smarter than them? Or, do other factors play a role?

For instance, one of the more straight forward studies covered in "Freakonomics" did the following. Two nearly identical resumes were written up. Nearly identical, because only the name was changed. One was sent out with the first name, Greg, the other, Tyrone. 'Tyrone' received 33 percent fewer call backs. A difference in experience, drive, and intelligence? Not according to the identical work experience and education level on the resumes.

As a nation, does the US work harder then countries fueled by sweat shop labor? Are we a smarter people? Or are there other factors at play?

To answer the original question... if I was rich and had a huge barn like that? It would have an indoor heated pool... for the geese and ducks. It would be climate controlled and possibly have some green peafowl. It would have lots of breeding pens. How about a huge tropical greenhouse, maybe with a few peafowl roaming in there and a cute little table where one could enjoy a nice cup of coffee/chocolate/tea in the morning while enjoying the scenery? And it would come complete with minions to help me take care of all of the critters and plants.

Ya i totally agree, but the geese and ducks would be required to wear a diaper so we could swim with them.

Nah... just a really good filtration system and well paid minions doing their job... and the well paid minions would have to be folks who love the job and love poultry. And need lots of them so they can take the time during their work day to relax, admire how great everything looks, and watch the birds. So they would be happy minions.
