I agree with above posts about the hookah. My husbands aunt and uncle, long deceased from old age, had one of those on display in their home with their Persian rugs. They had lived in Saudi Arabia and Iran in the 70's while he worked there and had brought home things from both places. The things were for tobacco use, so I wouldn't think they were illegal.

Oh yeah, they're not illegal. But sometimes cops gets a little overzealous.. it can take a while to clear it up

I would take the old dirt out... you never know who/what lived in there before. It would be awful to find out it contaminated somehow.

Well I've gotten the room with all the major mess cleaned out! Its not really cleaned out per say since I just did a cleaning and moved all the parts/junk to a corner that could be sold, used by others. But, at least all the hay and other nastiness is out, We haven't found anything else unusual at this time. I wanted to make room where we could start doing small repairs here and their as we could. In the next couple weeks we will start putting plywood on the walls of the coop! So excited!
Would you guys recommend throwing out much of the dirt in the coop (believed to be used for horses, mules, or something similar) and starting with fresh new dirt in there? It's going to have to be dug up anyway to put some wire down, so.

I'd worry more if they were parking vehicles or housing chickens than if they had other livestock in there. Diseases tend to be species-specific and spilled oil tends to stick around.

That was what I was thinking, really. Even if it was just livestock.. if it's been there a long time, who knows what chemicals are in it? Medications, pest control, oils etc. Some of the stuff they used in years passed for worms and whatnot is proven to be dangerous by now.

Lol well because he had so many to take with him, he accidentally left this one. Don't worry I don't take offense to the r word hehe you have to take "pride" in it if your from this part of the country! ;o) ... I'm definitely about to be married to a full fledged red neck lol country as they come! But you cant beat being simple and country living!!

Also, remember I've never even seen any sort of smoking pipes or devices before in my life! So yes any sort of smoking device gets labeled bong! Since this is what I've seen them called in a movie or tv show or two I've seen. However I did notice something "different" about this with the detail and ivory looking glass going around the bottom. It is beautiful almost lamp like... Just the red and blue things coming out of is what through me off!
