Hey guys,

Currently having some issues where a carrier bird was introduced to my flock and has spread either CRD or Coryza through my flock. Now between that time I have had 30 chicks hatched out a week ago from my incubator and from what ive been reading CRD passes through the egg and Coryza doesnt

The chicks i have are currently doing fine, eating drinking and running around and are showing no signs of sickness at all, so the question i wanted to ask is if the new chicks are infected with CRD would i see symptoms from them already or does CRD need to incubate longer in younger chicks before the symptoms show?

Normally there's a foul odor about the head area with coryza. To be sure what disease you're dealing with, it might be best to have bloodwork or necropsy performed on the carrier bird. You can contact your local extension office or state agriculture department to find out how to go about doing this.

There is a foul smell around the chooks heads, I'm leaning more towards Coryza so I'm pretty sure my chicks will be ok, I just wanted to know if anyone else has had chicks hatched that were infected with CRD that was passed through the egg.
