Cream Legbar Breeders?

I'm also wondering about getting some chicks, but like every were I looked most of the good breads were sold out till the end of 2020. it looks like there is gonna be a chick monopoly!!
Well I hope that you can find some chicks that you are looking for a meet your standards. Mine aren’t show standards in that I don’t show birds but I have nice looking healthy birds in my opinion and that’s the only one that counts at my house when it comes to chickens. So that is how things work around here and I haven’t gotten into a snit yet. When and if I do it won’t be good for any type of snotty people or chickens.

Have you looked at Green Fire Farms? Their cream legbars are about as high quality as you can get, as they are the original importers of cream legbar to the U.S. from show quality stock in Britan. They are a bit pricy but they are great quality.

No I don’t think so unless I just saw a post because I am not shopping for more myself at the moment. I have all I need. I was hoping to I wanted to look at a rooster though for a possible visit with just my hens when they are mature. I have to learn how that would work and I don’t want anything permanent or on a regular arrangement but something so they get enough exposure and I get enough fertilized eggs to have all three of my pullets bred and chicks to keep and sell from this flock soon so that it will be easy to introduce them and always have more Legbars within the flock already.

NPIP website will get you to NPIP hatcheries and breeders of a certain breed.

The open the document for your state. It is multi page and looks overwhelming, but it isn't. Open up the "find" function on your upper toolbar and type in "R236" It will find all matches in the document and will move between the matches.

Since I don't know where you are located @BlackWatchLady, I used @cooingdove location of NY. There are 12 matches in the NY database for cream Legbar. Here is what 2 entries look like (see the highlighted "R236" - it is from using the find function).

Sometimes there is a phone number, sometimes not.

What can you do with this info? Do a web search for a farm page or a website. Call them or email them.

Yes, you would have to search all 50 states, theoretically. However, looking closer to your location means you might find someone you can drive to, which is less stressful on the chicks.

Of course, there is a club too:

Green Fire Farms and High Quality or even Quality Cream Legbars are as mutually exclusive as anything can get

No need to get yourself in a snit. Hatchery bred are just not show quality types... 😎
Actually, some hatcheries get their birds from smaller groups that are breeding quality birds. I purchased some Black Laced Silver Wyandottes and the young man who purchased them as chicks from me entered them and got Grand Champion and Best of Show I think the number 1 and 3 spot. With the several birds he entered. I don't show so this is what I remember from the conversation. I wish I was better with photos and pictures so I could have saved them. My
