Well I hope that you can find some chicks that you are looking for a meet your standards. Mine aren’t show standards in that I don’t show birds but I have nice looking healthy birds in my opinion and that’s the only one that counts at my house when it comes to chickens. So that is how things work around here and I haven’t gotten into a snit yet. When and if I do it won’t be good for any type of snotty people or chickens.I'm also wondering about getting some chicks, but like every were I looked most of the good breads were sold out till the end of 2020. it looks like there is gonna be a chick monopoly!!
No I don’t think so unless I just saw a post because I am not shopping for more myself at the moment. I have all I need. I was hoping to I wanted to look at a rooster though for a possible visit with just my hens when they are mature. I have to learn how that would work and I don’t want anything permanent or on a regular arrangement but something so they get enough exposure and I get enough fertilized eggs to have all three of my pullets bred and chicks to keep and sell from this flock soon so that it will be easy to introduce them and always have more Legbars within the flock already.Have you looked at Green Fire Farms? Their cream legbars are about as high quality as you can get, as they are the original importers of cream legbar to the U.S. from show quality stock in Britan. They are a bit pricy but they are great quality.

Actually, some hatcheries get their birds from smaller groups that are breeding quality birds. I purchased some Black Laced Silver Wyandottes and the young man who purchased them as chicks from me entered them and got Grand Champion and Best of Show I think the number 1 and 3 spot. With the several birds he entered. I don't show so this is what I remember from the conversation. I wish I was better with photos and pictures so I could have saved them. MyNo need to get yourself in a snit. Hatchery bred are just not show quality types...![]()
Greenfire Farms.I am wanting higher quality chicks, wanting a roo and a couple pullets... but want them from someone who has vaccinated against mareks...
Good luck with them . I ordered 12 eggs and only 3 hatched. The others were completely clear or infertile.I just ordered some hatching eggs from Omega Hills, they vaccinate their chicks from what I read on their website. They look like really nice birds.
The eggs got here today and I’m going to stick them in the incubator tomorrow morning. I guess I’ll keep my fingers crossedGood luck with them . I ordered 12 eggs and only 3 hatched. The others were completely clear or infertile.
I’m so disappointed with their slow response to rectifying the issue.
